I think I may end up with a 1280. It looks like the cheapest way this side of $1000 to be able to print 12x19 size prints. I really love the way silver prints look, but I live in a cramped apartment and have neither the time nor space to seriously print. I have an enormous backlog of negatives I need prints of for my at the moment non-existent portfolio and basically the choice boiled down to finding an alternative to silver prints or have no prints at all. The piezosystem looks like it may fill the bill. I think the main challenge will be to get accustomed to the different aesthetic. I recently saw a few Platinum prints and feel they are much closer in appearance to a Piezo print than a fiber silver print is. I just hope that potential clients don't reject the Piezo prints as REAL prints, but I guess I could always go back to making a silver print for the purists... Right now I am waiting for Cone to send me their sample pack, so I can choose between Selenium Tone and Cool Neutral.
