So, at Greg's suggestion, I visited the Murchies web site and learned why
their Darjeeling tea costs 50 bucks an ounce:

"To create this precious tea the leaves are carefully covered with a blanket
during the oxidation..."

Now I know. The reason most tea tastes crappy is because blankets are simply
tossed carelessly over the leaves.
