In fact there were - Nikkor 50mm f1.2 launched July 1978 with filter thread 52mm - Nikkor 50mm f1.2 AI launched September 1981 same thread only 0.4 oz. less - Nikkor 55mm f1.2 launched December 1965 again 52mm filter thread - Nikkor-S 55mm f1.2 October 1972 NAI, AI, AIS and NASA versions, same thread - Noct Nikkor 58mm f1.2 February 1977 again filter thread 52mm converted to AIS in 1982 So all of them have 52mm filter thread but I can ensure you that excepting the Noct Nikkor with his hand moulded aspheric front glass none can match the Leica Noctilux. I have not tested the Konica f1,2 or the Pentax f1.2 but I hope not any surprise so I still believe that Leica Noctilux, with the Noct Nikkor, are the best available light lenses ever built.
