Yes, but when words which have common use are continually misspelled, or
words are typed several times in a row etc are continuously done.  This is
improper use/techniques.  I can understand and dismiss it when this happens
from a writer that does not use English very often, but someone who uses
the language all the time (native), this shows a distinct problem and
downward trend in language/writing skills.  I'm certainly not the greatest
writer to come down the road, but even I know enough to do a
spelling/grammar check, and we engineers are notorious for bad writing
skills.

It all depends on how you look at it Gene. "Proper" has always been in a
state of fluctuation. It was usually defined by those who went to the
better schools.

Maybe we could say that with the proliferation of writing utensils, ie.,
computers, the definition of "proper" is being defined by a larger
percentage of the population.

There will always be masters and artists even when it comes to writing,
but my guess is that a larger percentage of the population is practising
their writing skills than ever before.

As long as we understand each other. That's kind'a what language is about.
