Subject: [Leica] Elmarit 28 Hood Problem

I have a M 2.8/28 rectangular hood [model 12547] for my Elmarit 28 that 
has rattled since I got it.

One of the little pins has now disappeared from the backside of the 
ring. The plastic hood will pull away from the back ring a lilttle, but 
snap back when pressed. Another pin is coming out.

Is there a cheap fix for this?

Is it just a problem design? I notice that VERY few 28s for sale used 
come with the hood.

I like to use hoods and would prefer not to just toss it.
