Subject: [Leica] 90 or 80 dilema

I suppose the real question is if you will ever want to isolate your
subject using virtually zero DOF. The 80 is quite useable at 1.4
especially in the center 12mm or so. From F4 or so the differences in
the lenses are quite minimal. Rendering of oof areas is very good in
both designs and flare control is extremely good in my 75(proxy for the
80) and pre asph 90.

Another way of looking at this, whichever one becomes available at a
great price is the one to snatch up.

Another idea, look for an early 90 2.8. All of these of any generation
are amazingly great lenses and dirt cheap. This is my way of focusing
on low light and limited DOF questions. If you really don't need the
speed, then save some money and buy the 2.8 version.

By Leica standards, either of these are relatively inexpensive so why
not have both? :)
