For what it's worth, I started out in photography with HP4, and FP4, and
Tri-X,  went on to HP5 for many years, and then went back to Tri-X.  But my
favourite b/w film for fine grain is tmax100 (developed in D76 1:1).  Never
could acquire a taste for TMax400 or any of the Ilford Delta films.
