Well, I am sufficiently humbled! A big thank you to the LUG; you have
restored my faith. In fact, I feel a bit embarrassed as I sense I may have
some off sounding a bit whiny. OK, I was whining...I can admit that!

I really appreciate the feedback, of all kinds. The technical suggestions
are useful, and even those who responded who didn't really like my last
posting, the comments were appreciated and educational. The fact that others
did like my last posting is encouraging to day the least, and underlines
that an artistic endeavour will only please some of the people some of the
time! But more to the point, I feel a personal challenge to find a style,
rather than be all over the place, and the comments have given me ample food
for thought.

To answer a few questions:

To Scott, I have no idea why "55". But my daughter (on the right) is with
her two cousins who live 2500km away...all had t-shirts with 55 on
them....call it good marketing, I don't know!

To Don and others: I would have loved to add some fill, reflective or
otherwise. But this was one of those on the spot shots, after a pancake
breakfast at a church -- part of a family reunion weekend. The girls were
helping clean up, and the leftovers proved a ready prop for humour, a la
Mickey Mouse style -- as Gene noted. I did have the film rated to 320ASA,
but the exposure was probably a bit under due to the low light.

To Mark R: a unique and appreciated comment; you're in character for sure!

To Phil: Your comment about my index page is well taken. In fact, I have
planned a new layout.

To BD: thanks for commiserating with me. But I must point out that the kids
on the stairs shot
(http://members.rogers.com/jmcdesigns/jamesstreet/2004-31.htm) was not
posed...really, it wasn't!

Anyway, nice to be back and thanks to all who took the time to post a
response. And of course, I'll have to put my money where my mouth is and 1)
post stuff and 2) make sure I post comments to others who took the time to
solicit feedback.

ciao....

jm
