Because he has turned into a laughable Viagra pitchman, people seem to forget that Bob Dole was for years viewed as the Republican Hitman, the guy they rolled out when it was nasty down and dirty time. And speaking of, I have to say that John McCain's 'endorsements' of Bush are the weakest, most mealy mouthed things I've ever heard. In an interview last night he said straight out that John Kerry is his friend, and he thinks Kerry would make a good President.
