Subject: [Leica] Unintended flare test of 90mm Elmarit-M

While scanning negatives from a recent outdoor event I noticed a couple of
frames with very noticeable flares. I posted one of them at
  http://gallery.leica-users.org/OliverBrykPhotos/04Aug02_01 .

I used a current model Elmarit-M 90mm/f2.8 on Kodak BW400CN, probably at
f/5.6, no filter, on 08/22/04 at about 1 p.m. local daylight time, with
broken cloud cover. Is this flare typical of the 90mm Elmarit? Although I
have often made contre jour pictures I've not seen this kind of diffused
flare before.
