If they've chosen to keep silent and allow you to be their registrar of complaints and official mouthpiece, then I hope all of you are very happy together in your exclusive private club over there, with your smoking jackets. I apologize for losing my temper, but after what you said, who wouldn't? This is not the first time you and I have clashed over similar issues, when ideas have been proposed, regardless of how crazy they may seem. Allowing people to visit 'fantasy island,' (your words) is now great ideas get launched. That's what brainstorming is about. Allowing all the wild and woolly ideas that people can possibly imagine to come forth, and to be aired, responded to, modified, and refined. It's fun, and I think many of the folks who were participating were having fun with the idea, fanciful though it may have been. I recall your coming in on the Leica forum not too long ago during a similar discussion titled 'Creative Marketing Ideas for Leica's Consideration.' Things were going along very well, and then you decided it was time to insult me for bringing up the subject. How come? What are you so angry about, dear man? This list exists to allow people to have open and free discussions. There was a very lively discussion taking place about making cameras available to photography students--clearly in Leica's best interest to do so, to appeal to and make itself available to the educational market, in whatever way that it can--that was on the level of brainstorm. If you did not agree with the content of that discussion, or did not find it worthy for your own participation, is it necessary to knock it down with insults just to get it to stop? If the thread is of no interest to you, why not just ignore it? Everyone here is certainly entitled to his/ her opinion. As far as I'm concerned, no one has a right to take personal shots at anyone, especially you and B.D. As for censorship, if the man who kindly provides this space and pays the money wants to censor anyone, that's fine by me. I am a moderator on two other Mailman lists and am quite adept at hitting the delete key. Since I've had quite a lot of private mail today in support of my position from others on LUG, particularly in view of your position as a Leica Dealer, you might want to consider cooling your jets for a bit.
