Clive...... I repeat.. you don't need no stinking shutter in a digital
sensor camera.  It is a dust baffle, like in a Hasselblad 500 series light
baffle.  It protects the "film" from stray "light" ( sensor from stray
dust.)  It does no timing function for the picture taking.  Timing ( the
function of a shutter) is done by electronic timing circuits. It is NOT a
physical function, it is an electronic one.
