Subject: [Leica] For Ted and other WWII aircraft nuts

Peter, those are very nice shots of the BoB Memorial Flight. Somewhere I 
have pictures of them taken at RAF Bentwaters 19 years ago. I 
specifically remember "The City of Lincoln" bomber.

One afternoon at our gun club in Wickham Market - the gun club is gone 
now, I suppose - I was talking to an old WW2 British Army vet who had 
served part of his tour ar RAF Martlesham Heath. Our clubhouse was the 
RAF Scramble Shack from that base and used in the Battle of Britain. A 
new concrete floor was poured and the Nissan Hut moved from Martlesham 
Heath to Wickham Market. Anyway, we suddenly heard the sound of a piston 
engine aircraft and my friend's head jerked up and he said "Cor', 
Mate..... that sounds like a Spitfire!" We rushed outside and it was 
indeed a Spit passing over.
