The quiet Canon SLRs are the EOS Elan 7 models (aka EOS 30/33), 
and previous Elan II (aka EOS 50), especially with a USM lens, really 
very quiet for SLRs. Probably not as quiet as an unmotorized Leica 
rangefinder, and certainly bulkier (more "visible").
