Subject: [Leica] Cosina/Voigtlander 18mm f:4 ?

I have to buy the adapter mount anyway to use the lens on a M mount camera,
so the additional cost is a non-issue. I still must pay for the machining.
I even admitted to be willing to pay more for a M mount lens. It is not a
cost issue to the M mount ( only) world.

I think Karen has hit the nail on the head here... I only have M mount
cameras. Why would I care about LTM mounts or LTM cameras? I don't have
one. Us M mount ( only) people are obviously a (verbal at least )
minority. We are not the market segment that counts to Mr. Kobiyashi (
sp?).

I will keep my 15mm CV lens. It is a good (and only ) choice in a
small/portable, affordable, ultra wide angle lens. ( the 12mm was not
available when I got my 15, and I will not swap one for the other. The 15
does it for me.) But if CV wants to sell me another lens, it must be in
native M mount.

If CV went back and retooled everything for M mount, the price would
no doubt go up because of machining costs (M mount costs more to
tool) and smaller market share. They're not really selling to
enthusiasts in america as their major market, they're selling to
Japanese folks with our insane desire to keep our Leica IIs, IIIs,
ur-leicas, Leotaxes, Niccas, Reids, Canons, Zorkis, FEDs, etc. etc.
