Subject: [Leica] will DMR obviate need for R motor?

Keep in mind that contrary to original impressions, Leica has said that
the DMR is NOT intended as a frequently swapable back. In fact, if
memory serves me right, they said that frequent swapping - more frequent
than every couple weeks? - will shorten it's life span.

Leica's virtual tour of the DMR implies that the DMR consists of two
parts. The digital back, and drive/processor. The 'cartoon' of
switching from
digital to film implies that you only need to remove the sensor back and
not
the drive to switch to film.
