I have a first generation 50/2.8 and like it a lot.  It doesn't get 
much use since I bought the 40/2 Summicron, which with its homemade cap 
protrudes about 5 mm further out from the body.  I figure the 5mm is a 
fair trade for not having to pull'n'twist the lens to take a shot.
