Subject: [Leica] PAW week 3: Orientation

Thanks Philippe, Glenn, and Eric, it seems as if I'm "outvoted" on the
orientation. One advantage the computer has over the darkroom, for me,
is the ability to "play" with the cropping etc and of course hear what
others think. I find the tighter crop is effective for the upside down
view, and I did find the pole a distraction even in the viewfinder.
Originally as I framed the image, I preferred to keep the background in
for 2 reasons: one I could crop it out later and 2, if I got any closer
to the puddle, the DOF became very narrow and would make Eric's
complaint even greater. The light was dim and I needed to keep a
reasonable shutter speed to freeze the mirrored image. There was a
breeze and my unsteady hand to account for !!!

Thanks again for the comments, its been a good exercise, I'll print the
image and probably stick to the longer thinner image.

Cheers
Alastair
