Subject: [Leica] Wireless Network?

I, too have a Linksys Wireless DSL router and setting it up is a total
piece of cake - MUCH easier than loading an LTM. :-) I have it up in my
office on the third floor, and then have PCMI cards for my laptop -
which I used on the third and second floor, my wife's laptop, which is
used on the second floor, and my son taps into it from the fourth floor
with a wifi enabled laptop. Tina, if you can catalogue your slides, you
can do this in a heartbeat. (I think of myself as very non-techy, and it
didn't cause any problems.

I think the main problem will be how may IP addresses do you have from
your cable modem company. Most of them assign only 1 IP address. If
this is the case, you need to get a wireless base station that can do
Network Address Translation (NAT).

If you have multiple addresses, each of them can have their own IP
address, but I never see a need for that.

I have a Linksys Wireless DSL router which can do NAT. I have been
using it for a couple of years. It works great.
