Ted - I'm using the D2 just as you suggest, point, frame and *click.*
It's a great camera and I'm have alot of fun using it. This only
came up when I tried to take pictures in light too dim for the auto
focus to work. I am astonished at the quality of the images it
produces. I'm afraid my only-six-month-old M7 is a lonely pup at the
moment, to say nothing of my even more aged M3.

But, when something doesn't behave as I'm expecting it to, the
engineer in me rises to the fore and asks, "Why?" Can't help this.
Been an engineer too long, I guess. Started asking "why" when I was
a kid and never stopped.

>Oh jeeeesh don't do that it'll drive you into the looney-bin house.

Never the looney-bin. I keeps me from wasting time doing things that
won't work and keeps my frustration level low. There's no
disappointment here.
