Perhaps not profound, Nathan, but these are some very lovely photos that 
are quite gently beautiful.

My favorite is alt1...I really love the colors and sparse trees in the 
background.  I find myself wishing the foreground tree wasn't there, so I 
could concentrate on the geese (?) and the distant trees more, both the 
very dark ones on the other side of the water and the lighter ones off in 
the distance.  Perhaps you would consider carrying a saw next time so you 
could make some minor modifications?  ;)  ;)

I like the frosty canals very much, also.  I prefer the composition on alt2 
but the sunny colors on alt3...I see why you took both.

The others are nice, but don't hit me as much as those three.
