Subject: [Leica] Leica M3 purchase
From: jls at runbox.com (Jeffery Smith)

I think that, once we are in the next decade or two and Stephen Gandy is
updating his web site, he will pick the M6 (TTL or otherwise) as the
best all around RF in terms of pure shootability (damn...Outlook is
flagging that as a non-word). He wouldn't choose the Nikon SP...it
doesn't have a meter and has limited available optics and is coveted by
collectors instead of shooters. A mint M3 is the nicest thing in your
glass exhibition cabinet. I might feel closer to mine if it hadn't been
made when I was 5 years old. I needed sex hormones flowing through my
veins to imprint on objects, so I unfortunately imprinted on a Pentax
Spotmatic and coveted the Rolleiflex.

Feli is correct, but I don't think it would be a mistake. I've used a 35
for
years on an M3 without the goggles. But then I am not that critical
about
frame edges. And the 3 is a nice piece of work.
