I'm not Henning and I don't play him on TV but...DNG are Adobe's
answer to the huge (and growing) number of raw-format files produced
by digital cameras. It's a fully published/defined standard for
creating a "digital negative" (hence DNG).

Adobe makes a utility to convert just about any camera's raw format
into the DNG format. It is available as a download from their site
although I think you have to have CS or CS2. (It comes with CS2
although there is an upgrade.)

Leica and Hasselblad have stated they will follow the DNG spec for
their digital products.
