Subject: [Leica] Leica discontinuing chrome M lenses

Hmmm. Turnaround expert is not necessarily good for the soul of the
company. Good for investors and the banks maybe.

Perhaps the soul of Leica is now in their optical design group. Leica's
prowess in camera and imaging technology areas long since faded. There
was a spark of ingenuity in the development of the R line, but
innovation in the M line hasn't been there since the days of the M5.

A Japanese design team could pack immense functionality, quality and
value into the volume occupied by a classical M.

Regards,

Vick Ko

Afaik, the actual (interimist) CEO, Josef Spichtig, is a turnaround
expert. Didier
