I must live in an alternate universe or something :) - here in central
NC we have a Leica a-la-carte dealer who's sold a couple of cameras
that way; he recently ordered and sold one of the hammertone special
editions (LHSA?); he just got in about a half dozen lenses from Leica
specifically for rental purposes and always has a decent mix of used
Leica on the shelf. And is a dealer for the new Zeiss products. He
also stocks several brands of DSLRs - Canon, Nikon, Pentax and yes B.D,
Olympus :) - and a wide selecton of lenses to fit them. And sells a
mess of them. He stocks pro lighting kits. He stocks backdrops. And
doesn't charge an arm and a leg for any of it. And really services his
customers well. And he's two miles from my house. Methinks I'm pretty
darn fortunate :)
