Well this is as good a place as any....

I opened up my copy of "Photoshop User" over the weekend and there,
featured on the cover, was how to take a photographic portrait and,
using Photoshop and what used to be called Fractal Designs Painter, to
make a WORK OF ART!

The whole thing made me grumpy since the implication was that if it
were a photograph it couldn't possibly be a work of art - at least it
wouldn't look a proper painted portrait should.

Did it just hit me wrong or did anyone else see this and react the same way?

I can't find a link - so I'll just sit here and gump about it quietly. :)
