There is one announced today on some Japanese and Spanish sites,
called the Canon EOS 5D - 12MP full frame. It's supposed to be
between the Mark II and the 20D and costs $2500. What I'm hoping is
that they'll come out with one between the 1Ds Mark II and the 1D
Mark II. Right now there is a difference of several thousand dollars
and about 8 MP, but the cheaper 1D is still faster with higher
ISOs. I bought the 1D for the higher ISOs and faster shooting and am
very happy with it, but I would like more MPs to satisfy some stock
agencies. I can't imagine buying the DMR with only 10MP for $5000
without the camera when I can get an adapter to use my Leica R lenses
on my Canon! With RAW files any subtleties of tone or sharpness can
be adjusted when they are developed.
