Two cents worth:

I bought 3 M4's worked the absolute daylights out of them for several years, 
never had a problem from the day they came out of the box for use in desert 
heat to arctic sub zero temps. Worked perfectly til the day I traded them in 
for next to nothing to buy 3 M5's!

Go M4 and never mind all the screwed with other versions.
