The main point for me was that I wanted to emulate window light as much as
possible.  To that end, I also like shallower depth of field.  Our living is
anything but a studio, and there's all kinds of toys and other assorted crap
around.  The fuzzier, the better.

I'm really an available light kinda guy.  And now I have *tons* of available
light.  I'm thinking of getting a softbox, and then putting black stripes on
it so that the catchlights in the eye will look more like a window.  :)
