Eric,

I have 2 HP12Cs. I lost one, bought another, and later found the first.
One is made in the USA. The other in Brazil. I can't tell them apart.
They're about 20-years old. I still use one or the other every day.
Great design. Built to last. Worth every penny.

I'm a huge HP fan.

Love my 15C calculators. In fact, I have a hard time using anything
other
than RPN calculators now. Stack-based rules! :)

A few years ago, I was trying to find another 15C. One for home. One
for
work. Couldn't find one. An engineer where I worked had one, too.
Tried
to buy it from him. Offered to buy him the new calculator of his choice
in
swap for his old 15C. No deal. One of the sales guys at the company
heard
I was looking for one. He was working on a deal with HP at the time,
and
just happened to mention in passing how one of his colleagues was
searching
in vain for a 15C. Turns out his contact was the original designer of
the
15C, and happened to have a few unused ones. So he *gave* me one.

Gotta love HP. :)

I just bought an HP financial calculator recently. "12C platinum."
Made
in China. Can't tell where my original 15C was made. But the new one
feels
like a toy in comparison. The buttons don't have the nice feel. It's
lighter weight. A toy. Would gladly pay a premium to have calculators
made
the old way.
