 It reminds me of the sentiments in a song, by Randy Newman if I remember
correctly, where in 1945 a young man tells his grandfather that 'we won the
war', to which the response is 'I knew we'd beat those Yankees!'

Usually "Ferget!  Hell NO!!" or "The South Shall Rise Again".  Some value
the flag for its history, others for its symbolism.  It usually depends
which side of the War of Northern Aggression your ancestors supported.  For
most, though, it's a racist symbol.
