Peter,

Thanks for the tip.  I use my local camera store some.  They are crazy 
expensive but do handle things a bit more gingerly.  One of these days, I'll 
by my own scanner and be done with the low res. grocery store CDs!

Try 
putting it through at your local dev shop. They normally will do anything 
that 
you want after they see that you are serious. They will normally do high res 
scans for you, provided that you are prepaed to wait until they have a bit 
of 
spare time.

Works for me.
