My penmanship is a little worse than a 1st grader's, and I creamed
a couple of fountain pens in my younger years.

As a sophmore in college, an upperclassman actually gave me his Pelikan
rollerball after I made some admiring comment. I've gone through a number
of them, but I continue to use them to this day.

They used to make a less expensive model one could actually pick up at
Office Depot or whatever in years past. But the last time I went to buy a
replacement (not lucky with pens, I guess) it appeared that they had
discontinued this model, and I had to swing for a more expensive model.
$150 or so, IIRC, so still not all that pricey in the scheme of things
pen-like.
