The ones out there for the Nikon rangefinder system may have gotten rare but
the many SLR versions are medium well thriving and there are 3 or 4 of them
in the glass case of Pro Photo down the street invariably. I got one, a 3.5
there is a version before this in which the white serial numbers are
recessed halfway into the areas where the small outer lens to air surface is
recessed. Making for potential flare issues. Like "Micro-NIKKOR 55mm"
emblazoned across your overcast skies, Mines all black in there like they
figured out a bit later probably taking a tip from Zeiss designs, I think
this one is early 70s one of my favorite eras for affordable (cheap) AI
Nikon SLR glass which I love to scoop up on whims. I got the thing for 99
bucks give or take. That's my whim price point. About the cost of most the
other versions in the case. On consignment probably.
Can't wait to put it on my new D200 whenever I get that soon and then have a
deadly 75mm people lens., Compact. Unobtrusive. A stealth lens. You don't
even know there's glass in there. And cheap.
Get those split ends of your nose hairs at twenty paces!
