I've found that UPS, FedEx and USPS all make mistakes.

For packaging I often put the print in a plastic bag, tape the bag to an 
oversize piece of corrugated cardboard (approx 1-2" larger than print 
dimensions), cover this with another piece of corrugated cardboard with 
crossed plies, tape together, then sandwich this unit between 2 slightly 
larger pieces of corrugated cardboard, again with crossed plies.  Altogether 
that's four pieces of corrugated cardboard with crush zones at the corners, 
unlikely to bend accidentally.
