Hill people yes. In fact as I was shooting the ghost town, which is high up 
in the hills of Montana some yahoo lets loose with a high powered rifle over 
my head at a bull elk.

This was not during hunting season.

I took this as an invitation to leave quickly which I did.

I actually have some tighter in-camera shots and some wider shots showing 
more of the road out of town. (I've got to find all the negatives.) It looks 
to me like this old jalopy was leaving town, died on the roadway and was 
pushed into the bushes. Most likely this occured in the 1930's or 40's.

The local mine ran out of ore in the late 19th century.
