Hi, Nathan - It's not just the R/Canon combo focusing I was going to
pass on. I finally discovered after using the D5 and complaining
that I couldn't change the focus points with the big wheel like I
could on the 1DMII, that you could use Custom Function 13 set to #2,
turn the "On" button past on to the angle mark pointing to the wheel
and VOILA! you can use the big wheel to change the focus points. I
don't know why they make it so anti-intuitive! Since I was used to
using the 1DMII that way, I automatically tried to change the focus
points with the big wheel every time I picked up the 5D. Now I can.

As far as focusing with the R lenses, it made a tremendous difference
when I got a Bright Screen with split-screen and matte focusing. I
can actually see to focus! I always focus wide open but that's not a
problem for me because I usually shoot wide open, too.

That's all of my wisdom this morning and I haven't even had my coffee yet!!

Tina
