Greg,
Yes, this scanner seems like a very good solution for people who will not
have extremely demanding needs.  Making four foot enlargements, then this
will not work.  I played with some 35mm slides, detail was good, color
seemed quite good.  My only concern would be holding larger film formats
flat.  The pro versions have the wet carrier but that is more work than I
would personally care to endure for routine scans.
