Hi B. D.,
Your right because people who don't use the lens correctly in area's where 
it was made to work, they just bang away thinking the picture will look 
different because it's a 15mm.... ergo.... it will look great because few 
others shoot with it in every day situations. But just capture bad images!

As Michael said, "it happened to be the only lens he had." Therefore in the 
dining shot I'd have cropped it later to a normal type photograph simply 
because the 15 didn't do anything for this exposure at all.

The 15 and others in this size are great tools when applied to the correct 
situation because they do make for beautiful photographs with an excellent 
look to them. However, like I said, too many people think of them purely as 
a "wide angle" without any thought of the creativity where it does it's 
best.

But that's the fault of the photographer in using the lens correctly.
