I would be very, very leery of relying on a device like this in the field as
the sole keeper of my data.

That is, when your SD card is full, switch to another.  And then another.
And then another.  Re-use them *only* after you've transferred the images to
your hard drive.  And preferably after making a couple backups on DVDs.
