Subject: [Leica] Tanar 50mm f/2.0

Hi,
Just picked up a pristine Tanar 50mm f/2.0 in Leica screw mount ($15 at a
flea market together with a defunct Tanack IV-S). From its size and weight
I suspect that it is a Sonnar copy rather than Gauss. Can anyone confirm my
guess? Has anyone any experience with this lens? How does it compare with
a Summitar or Canon f/1.8? Haven't run any film thru the camera with it
yet. The lens reminds me of the old Nikkor f/2.0 with close focusing down
to 1.5 feet.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
