Tina,

You must have never gone surfing.  I recognized the images immediately 
as views of the surf from the beach, in early morning fog.  In my 
younger days, we used to surf in weather like that up and down the 
California coast.  It kinda got disorienting while waiting in the water 
for waves, as you couldn't see the shore.
