If the intent is to identify which specific lens is in use on the camera (max aperture, focal length, optical formula), then Leica has assigned about 38* of these 63 possible IDs all ready leaving 25 for future use. A few more will go to the rumored new wides. That's still leaves enough for many years of new lens development given Leica's usual glacial development pace. The French site refers to the coming camera as the Digital MR in a couple of places. Haven't heard that before. *It was always possible to tell from the French site whether lenses of the same focal length were of different optical formulas or not.
