Andy Grundberg wrote an overview of Newman's career in the NYT. Newman
remained a large format film photographer, working mostly in B&W, from what
I've
read.

I have one of his books, One Mind's Eye (NYGS, Little, Brown, 1974), in my
library. His portrait of Robert Moses caught the imperiousness and ego of
the
man. Newman made a PBS documentary about his life which showed him as a film

director on the set -- usually the subject's home.
