Ric,
I think that the bugle photo works best in your original colour.
Although I might expect B/W to provide a vintage news photo feel,
I think that the sombre colour of the soldier's uniform and of course
military posture set the tone. I hadn't thought about the empty stroller,
just that the chid at play in her own world amid that setting was the
element that made the composition. Also no intended comment on "bugle", that
was just meant to quote your image name.
As an aside, I have read that it is now common practice to use an electronic
device inserted within the instrument to produce the sound. Not meant to be
disrespectful, just a result of the paucity of skilled musicians for
memorial functions.
Once again, terrific image.

Cheers
Geoff

Ric,
 those are fine images.
The "bugle" in particular has a very unsettling feel and surreal quality for
me.
I'm thinking I'd expect to encounter it in Geographic or Life

Congratulations
Hoppy

PAW 21 is from a small town, Pikeville, NC. They are celebrating the
dedication of a new war memorial.

It has become difficult for me to see black & white after color. I
don't know why. Maybe it's just being swayed by the first image I
see. Maybe I've come to prefer color simply because I use color.

Thanks, Hoppy.

Perhaps the little girl pushing an empty baby stroller through a
symbolic cemetery foreshadows something.
