Ken,

No, I don't need Anti Newton Ring glass when I do it this way, at
least not in black and white. The emulsion side of b/w is so rough
that the Newton rings do not appear.

But with color films, both negative and positive, what you mention is
more of an issue. The emulsion side of C41 and E6 films is pretty
slick. I have had trouble with Newton rings with them.

I just KNEW there was a reason I don't do so much color :-)
