I use a piece of picture framing glass on top of my 11x14 slides in my 
Epson 836XL. The film is much thicker than 35mm, which may be the reason 
that most of the time, I see no Newton's rings.

When I do see 'em, they appear only as a small dot similar to a piece of 
dust. The PSP healing brush makes short work of them.

I use a film scanner for everything else, so there's no N-Ring problem 
there.
