Subject: [Leica] Consensus on external hard drives

The LaCie 1TB drive has a 3-position power switch. The position in the 
middle is marked "auto". That means "turn on when you have something to do". 
The instructions say that Auto does not work if you are connected with an 
iLink cable or with a non-powered USB hub.

But you shouldn't connect a monster disk through a USB hub, anyhow.
