I've had my M7 for a couple of years now. Exposure wise, it's a fast
as fast can be. You quickly learn to point at the the part of the
frame you want to take the exposure from, half-press the shutter,
re-frame and shoot.

I love it. I use my M3 only as a second body these days.

MP, like the M3, may be tougher than the M7 if you expect to have
roughhouse with the camera from time-to-time. MP also feels more
like the M3.

I'd go for the M7 all over again if I had to choose anew.
