I think that the D200 soaked up a lot of the serious buyers. Likewise, I believe that the Canon dealers had advance notice about the XTi so did not have a lot of stock nor was the XT anything new whereas the Minolta loyalists could finally satisfy their itch. I suspect that the Sony phenom will be just for a month or two as the build quality of the alpha is not so hot, of course the D80 is not so robust either. With the price for the XTi set at 899 with shoddy lens and 799 body only I suspect that everybodies prices will come down fast.
